California Ranch Living
I may have to rename this page. My posts are going to probably cover a wide assortment of topics on the ranch, Today my husband, head fence repair guy, went out to put up a roll of "hog wire to line one of our fields. He had just separated three young horses: a yearling and two two-year olds.. He put our 2 year old palomino colt in the field where he was laying out this hog wire. He set down the roll and gave it a push. Keep in mind we live in the foothills of the Sierras. It's not terribly steep where he was working but there was a definite downhill grade. Now he expected that roll to go about 20 feet and stop, but no. It took off rolling about 120 feet. That colt saw the "monster" wire rolling down the hill and he went berserk.
